Trump Evacuated After Shooting At White House Correspondents’ Dinner

President Donald Trump was evacuated from the stage of the White House Correspondents’ Dinner after shots were fired. The Secret Service and the FBI’s Washington Field Office said in a statement that one suspect was in custody. The Secret Service described “a shooting incident” near a magnetometer screening area at the dinner.

The president and First Lady Melania Trump are safe, the Secret Service said.

The DC Metropolitan Police Department did not immediately respond to an inquiry from TPM about the incident. The White House also has not responded to a request for comment.
