Linkin Park announce new singer, album and world tour

Linkin Park are officially back with new members, a new album and a new world tour – find out more below.

Today (September 5), the band hosted a livestream event where they featured two new members – singer Emily Armstrong formerly of Dead Sara and songwriter and new drummer Colin Brittain in place of Rob Bourdon.

With their return, Linkin Park have also announced a new album, ‘From Zero’. It will mark their first record since 2017’s ‘One More Light’, which was the last to feature late singer Chester Bennington.

‘From Zero’ is due to arrive on November 15, and is available for pre-order now. The album is previewed by one single, ‘The Emptiness Machine’, which is on streaming platforms now, and will receive a music video shortly after the conclusion of their livestream event.

Today, the band have also announced a short world tour that will consist of six arena shows across the world between September and November this year. The tour will kick off at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on September 11. Other stops include New York, Germany, London, South Korea and Colombia.

Shortly before going live, the band also announced on X (formerly Twitter) that their livestream event would be broadcast at London’s Shoreditch High Street Station and New York’s Times Square.

Prior to the announcement, Linkin Park had launched a mysterious countdown on their social media accounts that was due to end on August 28. It included a link to the official Linkin Park website, which led to the live countdown along with an email subscription box and a link to a My Community phone chat.

Then, when it came to an end on August 28, fans were left baffled as it immediately began counting up again upon hitting zero. The band then re-shared the countdown alongside the caption: “It’s only a matter of time…” The clock then glitched nine hours and five minutes in, leading to fan speculation that music would be released on September 5. Sum 41 singer Deryck Whibley who had his own announcement set for August 28 had to issue a statement confirming that he wasn’t joining the band.

Earlier today (September 5), it was revealed that fans who were invited to attend the event were made to sign a waiver beforehand as a way to ensure that the details shared are kept to themselves until the livestream event kicked off.
