Liam Gallagher has responded to rumours that Oasis are reuniting for two massive shows in London and Manchester next year.

As reported by The Times, rumours have been swirling around that next summer the Gallagher brothers will reunite as Oasis for the first time since their final performance as a band at V Festival in Stafford back in 2009.

The publication also alleged that the Britpop icons may be set to take over their hometown of Manchester, as well as London in the summer of 2025, with a string of gigs allegedly planned at the likes of Heaton Park and Wembley Stadium.

A rumour alleges that Wembley has been booked for a whopping 10 nights for the ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’ hitmakers. If true, it would mean that they would break the record for most gigs at the venue which currently belongs to Taylor Swift with her eight performances at the stadium.

Oasis are also rumoured to be potential headliners for next year’s edition of Glastonbury Festival. If true, the set would come 30 years after the release of their seminal 1995 LP ‘(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?’

To add fuel to the rumours, Liam recently responded to a handful of tweets on X/Twitter regarding the alleged reunion. One user wrote: “Heaton Park terrible venue for concerts,” to which the frontman responded: “See you down the front you big fanny.”

Another fan commented: “this will last about five seconds,” with Liam adding: “You got a crystal ball cunty bollocks.”

The claims of the reunion for next year come after Liam teased an “interesting situation” in regards to rumours of an Oasis reunion at his Leeds Festival performance.

During his 10:05pm performance on the main stage on Friday (August 23), Liam hinted at the rumours – which have been intensifying since he embarked on his ‘Definitely Maybe’ 30th anniversary tour this year, along with a recent Noel Gallagher interview that saw him soften his tone towards his brother.

Before starting ‘Half the World Away’ during his set, he said in-between long pauses: “It is very interesting init? It is a very interesting situation we’ve found ourselves in.”

YorkshireLive pointed out the significance of his statement before the song – being that it was led by Noel in the recording. During Liam’s Sheffield concert earlier this year, he also dedicated the song to Noel.

Earlier this week, Noel took the time to praise Liam in a new interview with journalist John Robb at Manchester’s Sifters Records.

“I can’t sing ‘Slide Away’ and ‘Cigarettes & Alcohol’ and ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll Star’ and ‘Columbia’ and all that,” Noel began, discussing the songs helmed by his brother. “I mean I can do it but it’s not the same. It’s the delivery or the tone of his voice and the attitude. I don’t have the same attitude as him.”

He went on to liken their respective voices to drinks: “Liam’s is a shot of tequila, right, and mine’s half a Guinness,” he said. “Mine’s half a Guinness on a Tuesday. It’s alright. Liam’s is ten shots of tequila on a fucking Friday night.”

Noel also recalled the night they recorded ‘Supersonic’, which was sung by Liam on the 1994 album. “I sing ‘Supersonic’ with the same melody, the same words, the same inflexions, but when he sings it, it’s a bit more menacing.”

He went on to say: “When I would sing a song it would sound good, when he would sing it, it would sound great.”

The musician also seemed to praise his brother’s current work, saying: “What he did was inspire the kids at the front to do something, do you know what I mean? ‘If he can do it I can do it’. And he’s still doing that now.”
