The 2016 MTV VMAs took place at New York City’s Madison Square Garden last night, and Drake couldn’t pass up the opportunity to present Rihanna with the coveted Video Vanguard Award.

Drizzy had previously congratulated the pop sensation with her own billboard earlier this month, and then decided to gain some extra brownie points by welcoming her to the stage with a heartfelt speech reflecting on her character and achievements.
